Dublin Fringe Festival
5th - 14th Decmeber
Questioning housing and the change of places, this remote artwork unfolded in audience members' homes through a website, a phone call, and a mysterious package arriving in the post. As security blurs into speculation and the future feels increasingly uncertain, the artwork explores what it means to own a house, bringing these deeply personal debates into your own home. Holdings were made to stay with you as much as it asks you to stay.
The project was a collaboration between Mel Galley and Clara McSweeney, working alongside researchers on Data Stories (Dani Hynes and Sam Mutter) and performed by four actors (Blaithín Ward, Aine Ryan, Sarah Griffan, Aoife Sweeney O Connor) across eight days. Holdings was supported by the Fringe Festival’s Make Space for Art fund, Data Stories and Temple Bar Gallery and Studio’s Free Space programme.
