Dublin Fringe Festival
September 2024
The tours explored the 30-year history of the Fringe Archive and were developed collaboratively over six weeks as part of the Art and the City course, facilitated by Michelle Browne. Together, Clara McSweeney, Mel Galley, Tree McCaul, Luxmi Shanmugananthaee created a walking tour that visited six outdoor spaces around Dublin. Each site revisited nine different past events of the Fringe Festival that were connected to the natural environment of the city.
Along the way, participants were given honey to taste, a zine to read, plastic to bury and mackerel to trade. They listened to various soundscapes, experienced waking up in a meadow, and were encouraged to notice signs baring instructions and reflections at each stop, guided by Treegull a performative character.
